What a wonder it survived in the wild being so white! Are you feeding corn now?? I was telling my husband of your quandry and he agreed with feeding corn or peanuts. His mother feeds the peanuts and has great success keeping the squirrels from the feeders!

We bought some dried corn feed on Wednesday. Initially we purchased some corn from Wal-mart, but then found a 40 pound bag of horse corn (same stuff) at the feed store for only 7.00 which was much cheaper!

So far it has not kept them out of the feeders, but maybe in time.

The white squirrel is a delight to watch! Soooo pretty!

Oh my gosh! I've never seen one of those before. I do remember when I was a girl, though, we had very civillized squirrels.

There was a bird house in the back yard that had a little attached chair and table made of wood. The table had a screw sticking up so you could put a chunk of bread or suet and seed on it so the birds would come. We put a hunk of dry bread on the screw and watched. The birds never came by, but a couple of squirrels did. They sniffed the bread, and then sat in the chairs and picked at the bread with their hands! We had pictures of it, but this happened back in '92, so we've lost them since. Sorry, but I had to share that little squirrel story!
