Happy New Year!
I’ve been offline for more than a month! (Honestly, it was really nice!!) I hope to be able to post more often now. I am looking forward to the new year!
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season. We had a crazy houseful of 25 for almost a week and 15 for two weeks, so yeah…. it was busy and fun! I am finally getting my house back in shape. There has been snow on the ground here for days… weeks? I have so enjoyed it. The way below freezing weather has even been kind of nice since it has given me an excuse just to hang out at home and clean and stay warm by the fire.
We did spend last week in Gatlinburg, TN. That was fun, but I am so thankful for the last few quiet days I have had. Make the start of the new year really good.
I started writing a new Christian novel in late November. I’m nearly half done with it (the writing part anyway). I am very excited about that. Who knows what I’ll do with the manuscript when it is complete. I am mainly writing it for myself, but we’ll see what happens.
I have realized as I have reread my writings from over the years that typically January, February, and March are the best, most happiest, calmest, most organized months of my year. My goal this year is to scale back, not take on too much at church and focus on my home and children this year… all year long. I’m still thinking about making a new list of resolutions… I’ll post more about that later.
So, what have you been up to?

I have missed your enthusiasm and blog! For the New Year? Slow down! Quit talking with people at great length who only want to discuss their scars. Read more good books. Eat better food. Sit in nature more and feel God.
Stay warm!

Good to have you back. I have been enjoying searching your old posts and other site.
I have been wondering where you have been! Glad you are back.
Enjoying the artic blast here in SE Texas, but sure am glad the weather is warming back into the
60's.Lots of cleaning and organizing, preparations for my spring garden, resolving to bake all my own bread, no more convenient mixes, scaling back as well, on what needs to be scaled back to stay home more.
Scaling back for the whole year sounds good Melissa – all the best with that.
We're rearranging a few things here – can't talk of them yet but stay tuned.
I'm focusing on keeping things simple even though we're busy. Seeking a nice rhythm in life. Routines and an uncluttered calendar are the keys I am working on
