My Detox Journal: Day 2
Well, I made it through the day yesterday and didn’t fudge even a little even though it was hard when my husband (bless his heart) cooked himself some veggie burger patties and a baked potato. This morning my daughter Sarah woke up with the desire to make homemade cranberry muffins. I didn’t eat any of them, even though they looked light and fluffy and smelled good!
My stomach was upset all night long and I didn’t sleep good at all last night. I also had a new boil come up on my thigh yesterday evening. Ugh.
So here is my plan for today:
Breakast:
Green Tea – steeped with 1/4 lemon, 4 drops Stevia, 30 drops of Kidney Cleanse Formula
8 kiwi fruit – helps remove excess sodium from body, antioxidant, Vitamin C, good respiratory system
Berry Tofu Smoothie (I drank 16 oz. of the recipe below and divided the rest between my four girls – it was a hit!)
Berry Tofu Smoothie
16 oz. Strawberry Silken Tofu
1 cup frozen or fresh blueberries (I had blueberries we put up in the freezer from last summer.) – antioxidant, cancer fighting
1 tbsp. flax seed – high in fiber, omega 3 fatty acid, good for intestinal health
1 tbsp. honey
1/2 – 3/4 cup soy milk (I used vanilla flavor)
Process in blender or Vita Mix until smooth. You can add a few ice cubes and crush if desired.
Lunch:
salad with lettuce, carrots, tomatoes, and chickpeas
Green Tea – steeped with 1/4 lemon, 4 drops Stevia, 30 drops of Kidney Cleanse Formula
Snack:
16 oz. Bolthouse Farms Vedge Juice – Our juicer died and we have a new one on order, for now, this will do.
Supper:
steamed spinach – essential amino acids, lysine, arginine
raw broccoli – cancer fighting, good for immune system, beta carotene, Vitamin C, calcium, folate
raw carrot sticks – good for eyes, cancer fighting, Vitamin A, beta carotene, Vitamin B6 and B12, calcium, and more
hummus dip

So sorry about the family health issues, but I definitely believe you are on the right track with lots of raw food. Of course, that will contradict doctors orders for Crohn’s if that is the diagnosis. You do want to alkalinize your systems, you can check that with pH strips. You’ll want to test your water pH as well. If you would like to exchange some raw recipes, let me know!
Melissa, this is my first visit to your site. Your detox plan sounds great, but I would caution you with intaking too much soy and tofu. There is now so much research on how bad soy actually is and it is one of the highest genetically modified crops in our country. Check out The Weston A. Price Foundation. There site is so full of info! Do you drink kefir? I make my own with real kefir grains and raw organic milk. I make smoothies every day for my family with them. Great pro-biotics! I would be willing to send some grains to you if you are interested.
Blessings!
Karla, I do drink Kefir. I love it! We don’t eat too much soy, so don’t worry!
Hi Melissa,
It has now been a month since you started your detox program and I saw only two entries in your detox journal. How did it go??
Thank you for sharing all your housekeeping help with us! I had previously used another popular to-remain-unnamed program that I found on the internet, but had to leave it all behind as they “offered” far too much ungodly advice. Some of their underlying suppositions were also not based in scripture, which helps me NOT ONE IOTA!!
May the Lord of Creation bless your day!
Hi Melissa
You said that you were getting a “boil” . Have you ever heard of hidradenitis suppurativa (HS for short)? Sometimes people think they have boils, sebaceous cysts and folliculitis when it is actually HS. I have HS myself and just wanted to let you know about HS.
