This easy Strawberry Trifle recipe is the perfect go to recipe for summer potlucks, picnics, or any day you need a quick dessert! @ AVirtuousWoman.org

This is one of those recipes that is so easy to throw together – it literally takes just a few minutes! That reason alone makes it the perfect dessert for taking to potlucks, picnics – or just when you want a fresh dessert on a weeknight!

And how can you go wrong with strawberries and angel food cake?

Often I will slice an angel food cake, spoon some strawberries over the top and garnish with a generous dollop of whipped cream or Cool Whip. That’s so quick and easy! BUT, if you take a couple more minutes you can make this pretty trifle dessert with the exact same ingredients and you’re family and friends will love you for it.

This recipe is for a potluck size large bowl trifle, but you can very easily half this recipe to make for your family at home.

Easy Strawberry Trifle

Ingredients

  • 2 angel food cakes
  • 2 lbs. strawberries
  • 2 16 oz. packages of Cool Whip, thawed

Directions

First, wash your strawberries and remove the stem and core. Cut the strawberries into pieces. Add about 1/2 cup of sugar, natural sugar, or honey over the strawberries and allow it to sit and marinate for a few minutes, stirring every now and again.

Using a bread knife, cut angel food cakes into bite size pieces.

Your going to add a layer of cake to the bottom of your large clear glass bowl. Top with strawberries and then add a layer of Cool Whip.

Repeat, ending with a layer of Cool Whip.

You can  save some pretty sliced strawberries to garnish the top if desired. Cover and refrigerate until you are ready to serve.

Enjoy!
