Jesus Calling: 365 Devotions for Kids by Sarah Young

UPDATE: The winner is Jalynn Patterson. Congratulations!

This is the time of year when we start thinking about the books and materials we’ll use for worship as a family in the coming year.

Jesus Calling for Kids

Thomas Nelson recently sent me a beautiful deluxe edition Jesus Calling for Kids bound in a wonderful leather-soft hardback cover to review.

I wanted to share an excerpt from the book with you. This devotional, just like the original version of Jesus Calling, is written in first person, as though God were speaking directly to you. Each devotion has a “Read On Your Own” suggestion.

Jesus Calling: 365 Devotions for Kids is also available on Kindle.

May 23 Hidden Treasures

“The Lord will be your safety. He is full of salvation, wisdom and knowledge. Respect for the Lord is the greatest treasure.” Isaiah 33:6 ICB

Before you even get out of bed in the morning, I have already looked ahead at your day and prepared the path that will get you through this day. And it’s not just an empty, boring path. It’s loaded with treasures I’ve hidden all along the way. Some treasures are blessing – sunshine, flowers, birds, friendships, answered prayers. Other treasures are troubles – designed to shake you free from old habits and help you see things in a new way.

But all of My treasures are to help you remember that I am always with you. So as you go through this day, look for signs of Me all around you. You will find Me all along the way.

About the Book:

Based on Sarah Young’s renowned bestseller Jesus Calling, this is a wonderful devotional for children. The scripture and themes correspond with the daily reading in the adult version, so parents and kids can share spiritual time together.

This deluxe version features a rich blue and orange leathersoft hardcover with the iconic bird in center stage. It’s a beautiful package that parents and grandparents will be proud to give children year-round.

It is Sarah’s fervent prayer that our Savior may bless readers, and now young readers, with His presence and His peace in ever-deeper measure.

It’s so important that we instill in our children a love for worshiping their Creator now while they’re young! Be sure you set the example – have your own devotions everyday and let your kids see you reading your Bible, see you praying, and hear you talk about God’s love, mercy, and grace on a regular basis.
