Let the Work of Her Hands Praise Her in the Gates. Proverbs 31:31 ----- Day 75 in the series From Chaos to Calm: 15 Weeks to a Happy Home by Melissa Ringstaff

From Chaos to Calm: Day 75

Scripture Memory: “Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates. Proverbs 31:31

The Proverbs 31 woman was an amazing woman indeed. She was a diligent worker. She served her family faithfully. She was a wife her husband could take pride in. I imagine Jesus coming up to her as she enters heaven one day and saying to her, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.” I hope to hear those words one day. More than anything I am looking forward to Jesus coming to take His people home.

What do you imagine Jesus saying to you when you meet Him face to face for the first time?

A life well lived is a life lived for Him. The woman of Proverbs 31 didn’t need anyone to boast about all she had done because her works told the story. She was praised in the gates because she was a woman worthy of praise.

Was she perfect? You might think so, but in reality the only one who fits that description is Jesus Christ. She was worthy of praise not because she was a perfect wife, mother, and friend, but because she offered her best. She lived her life to the fullest. She didn’t offer her family “second best.” She didn’t give her best to herself and offer her family the leftovers.

Are you giving your family the “best” of you? Do they know that you love them more than your own life? Why or why not?

We have come to the end of this book. However, you don’t have to let the challenge end! Keep working on your self-discipline. Keep working on putting your family first. Keep working on giving your whole heart to Christ. It is the journey of a lifetime. And one day, it will be said of you, “Let her works praise her in the gates.”

It is my prayer that you continue seeking out God daily, leaning on Him, and enjoying His Word. I hope you will continue to keep a prayer journal, but whether or not you keep a journal, never stop praying! Never loose hope. Never discard the gift.

Life may never be perfect, but one day soon, we will have a perfect home, a perfect family, and a perfect life. Until then, strive to make your home, heaven on earth.
