Life comes with a lot of questions… but just one answer.

That’s the first thing you read when you look at the back cover of Max Lucado’s new devotional book for teens titled: One God, One Plan, One Life.

It isn’t easy being a teen – especially these days. And as a mother of three teen girls, I know how frightening it can be trying to raise pure teens in an adulterated world. There are so many distractions that can pull your teen away from what really matters – their walk with Christ.

4 Ways to Encourage your Teen

To encourage your teen to walk faithfully each day, first of all you need to be setting the example!

  • Let your teen see you reading the Bible.
  • Make it a point to pray with your teen and not AT your teen.
  • Learn to say your sorry when you make a mistake or say something you shouldn’t have said to your teen.
  • Be the mom first, but also, be a friend. Let your teen know your there – no matter what.

  1. I try and encourage my son to live one day at a time by leading him to pray about problems that arise, and also pointing out how God has led him in the past. Often times we do not see how things will work out for our son, but we all see past leadings, and draw confidence in that.
  2. We try to encourage our two teens by letting them see us on our knees and spending time together as a family in prayer. We constantly tell them that true success is found in finding God's will for their lives and doing it!
  3. I follow you and Tommy Nelson books on fb. Would love this book for guidance with my boys. They are a blessing though sometimes I wonder if what I am doing is right!
  4. I personally dont have any kids so therefore dont have a teen. I did however sort of adopt my teen niece. She is 16 years old and I try to be the example for her since she doesnt have one in her life. I try to encourage her to be calm in this life and to trust God in all things. I always have my phone and heart open to her whenever she needs me.
