Spring Cleaning for the Heart and Home: Day 12

Good morning! How is your day going? Do you have fresh flowers adorning your tables? Your kitchen window sill? Your bedroom dresser? Or in the bathroom? If not, you should treat yourself to some fresh picked flowers! Even the most ordinary “weed flower” can look sweet and appealing in a pretty vase or even a Mason jar with a ribbon tied to it!

It’s one of my favorite things about spring time. In my yard we have flowers blooming from March through September. Daffodils, tulips, trillium, peonies, lilies, roses, daisies are just some of the blooms I see everyday. I love to send the girls outside to pick flowers and fill up vases in every room.

Even if you don’t have a yard full of flowers, there is no reason not to have flowers in your house. Whether you pick up an inexpensive bouquet from the grocery store or purchase some of the beautiful silk flowers available these days, flowers add joy to life. Get some!

    Amazing Grace says

“Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for
thereby some have entertained angels unawares.”
How I love this verse. It reminds us that we should always be ready to receive visitors. Keeping fresh flowers in vases around our home makes the home look and smell beautiful and guests appreciate the little hospitable touches that show we care. Whether tiny studio apartment or rambling mansion a house can be made a welcoming home which is inviting to guests, and when the cleaning is done, such little touches never go unnoticed.
