How to Use Bible Readings in Your Homeschool

#1 One way you can use this reading plan is to print it out and put it somewhere visible in your homeschool space. Each day, make it a point to read the assigned verses together as a family. You could even take turns reading aloud! This would be a great activity to do first thing in the morning, as part of your morning basket routine, or during your evening family worship.

#2 You can also incorporate the readings into your Bible curriculum. There will be 9 Bible readings in this series covering all nine of the Fruits of the Spirit. You could do one reading each day and spend the month discussing and studying the topic of joy. This would be a great way to help your kids understand what it means to have joy in their lives!

#3 You can use these Bible readings as part of your homeschool co-op meetings or Bible study groups! Simply print out the readings and discuss them together. This would be a great way to dig deeper into the topic of joy and learn from each other.

Why Should We Teach the Fruits of the Spirit?

By studying the Fruits of the Spirit, kids will learn that joy is more than just happiness. It is a deep sense of contentment and peace that comes from knowing God and living according to His ways. Additionally, they will learn that joy is not dependent on our circumstances. No matter what is happening in our lives, we can always choose to have joy!

The fruits of the Spirit are listed in Galatians 5:22-23. They are: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. As you can see, joy is just one of many fruits that God will grow in our lives if we allow Him to!
