So, this is my life. Last week, in my mind I would have a couple of days to really focus on my kitchen. I wanted to organize and get things neat and clean. Pull stuff out of the cupboards. Re-arrange. You know, all the good stuff.

In actuality? I was able to cook and wash dishes.

I’m on a quest for calm and just can’t seem to find extra time. Is your life like that? Am I the only one?

So, in my house, we actually keep most of our food in the furnace room/turned pantry. My kitchen is small and I have a LOT of cook ware, dishes etc. But I do keep some things in the kitchen, like my grains, beans, nuts, spices, and a few other odds and ends.

I wish I had one of those pretty walk-in closet type pantries. But like I said, the other day, instead of being discontent, I’m choosing to work with what I have and make the best of it.

So when you’re cleaning out your pantry, make a note of items that need to be used up soon and make a plan to add those to your menu plan.
