A Message to Young Women | A Virtuous Woman

One morning a pastor was in the pulpit preaching a sermon to his congregation. He noticed a young teenage couple sitting near the front row. The young man had his hand on her knee and his arm around her shoulders. As he preached he noticed the couple kiss several times.

In the middle of his sermon, he stopped and addressed the young man. He said, “Do you love this girl?”

Stunned, the boy stammered, “Uh… Yes, sir.”

“Do you plan to marry her?”

“Um, well, I don’t think so…” he answered.

Indignant, the pastor stood up straighter. “Well, then,” he said. “What are you doing with your hands on another man’s wife?”

I love this true story! Think about it! Are you saving yourself for your future spouse? If you are going on the assumption that he or she loves you…you may end up with a lot of regrets when you finally do meet the person you will marry.

The Wrong Person

I wish my mom and dad had stressed to me the importance of being careful about who you date and who you give your heart to. I ended up with more than my fair share of heartaches. It is so easy to get in too deep, to care too much, and to fall in love with the wrong person.

When you do finally meet that one special person who you know you can’t live without, and get married, you don’t want the imprint of a dozen other people in your heart. Memories are not easily erased. Broken hearts do mend, but the pain never really goes away. It is always there, somewhere, lurking in the back of your mind.

Staying pure is not always easy, but it is well worth the wait!

  1. Praise God this pastor has a backbone. I don't understand why people think it's no longer necessary for children to be chaperoned but unfortunately it has led to the fall of many young teenagers. After seven generations of couples in my family having children out of wedlock with the Lord's help my husband and I planned to stop it with our generation. The Lord has blessed us with two wonderful children and one on the way and I can thankfully say that I kept myself fully for my husband and it has been such a blessing to me and our marriage. I encourage any young teenager or person of dating age even if your parents don't require a chaperone please get one yourself there are many godly people that are willing to help you through this time of life and you will be very thankful later. God bless
