Marriage and Arguing

“Better to live on the corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife.”
Proverbs 25: 24 NIV

Did you know it takes two people to have an argument? When your husband says something that irritates you, how do you react? Do you stop and take a deep breath before letting words fly out of your mouth? Or do you spit out the first thought that enters your brain?

Arguments are not started by the first person to speak. They are started by the second. Are you a quarrelsome wife?

“A word aptly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver.”
Proverbs 25: 11 NIV

One Response to “Marriage and Arguing”

I think our family loves a good debate. Yet, we do know how to fight fair. We have been a part of marriage retreats and also I have read christian teachings, the word of God. I know when to admit I am wrong and ask for forgivness.
I do not however know exactly if I am 100% wrong sometimes. or if I am 100% right sometimes. I think I would have a problem with that debate. I know more than not that I need to keep silent. I can learn much more about the situation by listening. Reasoning, and not reacting but responding if needed. Even if the respond takes time… even years. God Bless, Cora
