One of the biggest challenges that homeschooling moms face is staying organized. It can be difficult to find the time to get everything done, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. But with a little bit of planning and organization, it is possible to stay on top of things! In this blog post, I’ll discuss some tips for how to keep yourself organized while homeschooling.

Not to mention staying on top of all your normal housework – cooking, cleaning, and laundry. But with a little bit of planning and organization, you can make it work!

Organizing your home and homeschooling is an ongoing process. It’s important to stay on top of things and not get overwhelmed with the task at hand, so don’t try to do too much when you’re just starting out!

A good rule for organizing anything in life – whether it be finances or laundry list items-is “keep it simple.”

When beginning any new project – especially ones that seem complicated – take time each day/night to make them a habit and become second nature.

Then you can add more types of organization systems to your routine. But don’t try to add a complex organizational system to your life overnight. You’ll only end up frustrated and discouraged when you aren’t able to make it work.

#1 Create a routine and be consistent

One of the keys to success with homeschooling is having a routine and being consistent with it. This will help you stay on track and avoid getting overwhelmed. figure out what works best for you and your family, and then stick to it as much as possible.

I was a homeschooling mom for 23 years, and staying organized was always a challenge. Sometimes I felt like I had tried every system out there, but nothing seemed to work for me.

Eventually, I realized that the key to staying organized was creating a routine and sticking to it. It didn’t matter what type of routine I used, as long as it worked for me and my family.

And like everything else in life, consistency is key. No matter what you’re doing. This means following through with what you say you’re going to do, and not letting things slide. Consistency and self-discipline go hand in hand.

#2 Set up a daily routine and stick to it

One of the best ways to stay organized while homeschooling is to set up a daily routine and stick to it. This will help you stay on track and avoid getting overwhelmed. Figure out what works best for you and your family, and then stick to it as much as possible.

When choosing a planner, remember that naturally unorganized moms probably don’t need to buy a planner with lots of bells and whistles. If you’re unorganized and have been for a while – a simple planner or notebook is probably the better choice.

Another great way to stay organized is to use a To Do List. This can help you keep track of all the things you need to do in a day, week, or month. You can find some great To Do List apps online or in the app store.

But my favorite way to use a to do list is to just write one down on a piece of paper. Doesn’t even have to be pretty. Lists are a great way to help you stay organized and on track. I tell my kids that if it’s not written down it doesn’t get done. It’s one of my life rules. 🙂

There are so many great apps and online tools that can help you stay organized while homeschooling. Utilize them! There are apps to help you track your schedule, keep track of assignments, and even grade papers. Find the best work for you and use them to your advantage.

#8 Get your children involved in the organization process

One of the best ways to stay organized while homeschooling is to involve your children in the process. Ask them to help you create a daily or weekly schedule.

Have them help you choose which subjects they want to work on each day. And have them help you put away their materials when they’re done for the day.

This will teach them responsibility and help them to stay on track.

#9 Create a Housekeeping Routine

When you’re a homeschooling family, it’s easy for household chores to go undone. It’s helpful to create a housekeeping routine that everyone in the family can help with.

Having designated chores for different days of the week and assigning your children daily chores will go a long way to keeping your home running smoothly.

#10 Use Your Slow Cooker and Instant Pot Often

Cooking dinner every night can be a challenge, but it doesn’t have to be. Utilize your slow cooker and Instant Pot to make mealtime easier. There are tons of great recipes out there that you can make in these appliances.

Using a slow cooker can really make dinner time easier after a long day of homeschool activities. Just set it in the morning and forget about it until dinner time!

  1. Pray and ask God to help you find systems to organize your home and homeschool that work for your family.
  2. Write a few ideas down that you feel will be helpful and any tools or items you need to purchase.
  3. Think about your day and plan a basic routine, but don’t try to cram in too many things into your day.
  4. Give yourself room to be flexible! If you’re naturally unorganized, flexibility will be keep to how well your days run and whether or not you feel like your day was a success.
  5. And finally, give yourself grace. Homeschooling is not for the faint of heart. You’re doing great!

Staying organized can be difficult, especially if you are homeschooling for the first time. However, by following some of these tips, it will be easier to keep on track of everything. And remember, your children can still learn and learn well – even if your homeschool isn’t perfectly organized. Do the things that work for you and make your family happy!
