Do you have a special Easter basket for your kids? When I was growing up my mom had two Easter baskets – one for me and one for my brother. They were large and pretty and had a ribbon tied in a bow on the side. They were so pretty and perfect for filling up with fun little goodies. My mom is super good at gift-giving.

My kids had their special Easter baskets too, that we used year after year, but they weren’t as large as the one I had growing up. But they worked for small gifts and were perfect for egg hunts in the yard. I wanted the kids to be able to easily carry their baskets when they were toddlers – so I always bought smaller ones and used them every year.

Either way, whatever you works for your family is what works!

Funny story from years past: A couple years ago Easter fell on April 1 (April Fools Day) and we had all of the grandkids over for the egg hunt as per usual. When it came time for the egg hunt, they looked and looked … and looked and looked until one of the kids was like, “Hey wait a minute!!”

That’s when we actually hid the eggs and had the real egg hunt. 😂

What Do You Fill Easter Baskets With?

I like to fill Easter baskets with all natural materials for the grass – Easter grass alternatives that are more environmentally friendly. Options include:

  • paper shreds – you can buy these in different colors at the Dollar Tree – just look in the gift wrap section
  • fluffy pom poms – be careful with your little ones as these could be a choking hazard
  • crumpled tissue paper
  • wheat grass – you have to plan ahead if you want to grow your own wheat grass, but it’s fun!

Then, I like to fill my Easter baskets for my kids with a small selection of inexpensive gifts, a special book, and some yummy treats.

I love shopping on Amazon for a number of reasons, one of them being, it’s great for last minute shopping and delivery is so quick! In my area we’ve even started getting Amazon deliveries on Sunday which means I can order on a Friday and still get it in two days.

There’s still plenty of time to plan what Christian Easter Basket Stuffers for Kids you’re going to buy. I hope this list helped!

  1. These are great ideas! I love the Melissa and Doug Suspend game that you included. When I was teaching first grade, it was a favorite for indoor recess or free time. Great pick for elementary kids and older!
