Fun Things to Do in the Month of May

  2. Attend a music festival or concert: Many music festivals and concerts take place in the spring, offering a chance to see your favorite bands and musicians perform live. Check your local events calendar for upcoming shows and festivals.
  3. Take a bike ride through a scenic area: Enjoy the warm weather and beautiful scenery by taking a bike ride through a local park or nature trail. Many towns have bikes you can rent!
  4. Visit a botanical garden or arboretum: Take a leisurely stroll through a beautiful botanical garden or arboretum and enjoy the spring blooms and fresh air. Many gardens also offer guided tours or events.
  5. Have a barbecue or cookout with friends and family: Fire up the grill and invite your friends and family over for a delicious barbecue or cookout. You can also have a potluck and ask everyone to bring their favorite dish.
  6. Have a game of mini golf or go-karting: Have fun with friends or family by playing mini-golf or go-karting. Or try other fun activities, such as laser tag or bumper cars – great ideas for families with kids!
  7. Visit a farmers’ market and cook with fresh, seasonal produce: Visit your local farmers’ market and pick up some fresh, seasonal produce to cook with. You can also try new recipes and experiment with different flavors.
  8. Take a day trip to a nearby city or town: Take a break from your usual routine and explore a new city or town. You can visit museums, historical sites, or local attractions.
  9. Watch the sunrise or sunset from a scenic location: Wake up early or stay up late and watch the sunrise or sunset from a beautiful location, such as a mountaintop or beach.
  10. Go on a nature hike or walk: Get some exercise and fresh air by going on a nature hike or walk. You can explore local parks or nature reserves and see the beauty of the outdoors. This is one of my favorite things to do as a family!
  11. Have a movie night with friends or family and watch your favorite films: Plan a movie night with your friends or family and watch your favorite films.
  12. Host a game night with board games: Invite your friends over for a game night and play your favorite board games. My daughter, Sarah and her husband Ethan do this a lot and it’s so much fun!
