Whenever I need some encouragement or a little homemaking inspiration, I like to turn to my favorite Christian homemaking blogs for a some homemaking motivation. 

Before I get into sharing my favorite homemaking blogs with you, I wanted to share some of my own homemaking adventures over the last few days. It seems like much my day revolves around food. But it’s been wonderful because I still have two teen girls at home and they are such good cooks! 

Mamas, I’m telling you: It pays to teach your children how to cook. 

First of all, for mother’s day the girls made me a most beautiful, delicious breakfast in bed. It’s been their tradition for as long as I can remember and every year the food they prepare for me is even more delicious than the year before. 

They made me a heart shaped scrambled egg, homemade crepes with a lemon cream cheese filling and fresh homemade blueberry jam, and whipped. I felt so special! 

We’ve also been enjoying Marlowe so much. She’s such a joy. I know puppies are easy to love, but she’s just the cutest thing ever. I think she has the sweetest face!

We finally left the house and made the drive to Knoxville on Thursday last week. It was the first time we’d been to the barn (or anywhere for that matter) in 8 weeks so Laura was especially happy to see Theo. She had a great lesson on him! Otherwise, life has been pretty quiet. I’ve been contemplateling 1 Thessalonians 4:11 a lot these days. It’s become one of my favorite verses.

“Aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you.” 1 Thessalonians 4:11 ESV 

Christian Homemaking

As a young mom I really struggled with homemaking. Well, not the idea of homemaking, but the practice of it. It was hard. There was so much to do. I didn’t really enjoy cleaning.

I enjoyed the fun parts of homemaking.

You know, like cooking, and baking, and planting flowers. 

Scrubbing and weeding were not high on my list of things I enjoyed doing. 

I knew that the Proverbs 31 woman was a good homemaker. The Bible tells us that the virtuous woman managed her home well. 

“She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.” Proverbs 31:27 ESV 

And I wanted to be a good manager of my home. 

Over the years I found myself inspired by other homemakers. Women who embodied the ideals of homemaking in a way I longed to emulate. 

Times have certainly changed. Many of those women I first learned from don’t have homemaking blogs. I read their books instead. 

I still find enjoyment reading about homemaking, but I usually read homemaking blogs when I need a quick boost of inspiration. 

Today I’m sharing some of my favorite Christian homemaking blogs and hope that you’ll be inspired just like I am!

Christian Homemaking Blogs

In my opinion these are some of the best blogs about homemaking on the internet! 

1. Money Saving Mom: I’ve been a reader of Crystal Paine since before she had the Money Saving Mom blog. She’s so genuine and loves to serve her readers. At the Money Saving Mom you’ll more than just about saving money. And she posts great deals every day! 

Some of the topics she talks about are:

• grocery shopping
• productivity 
• motherhood
• books to read

She has a number of courses to help you become more efficient in your every day life. Crystal also hosts a great podcast you should subscribe to if you haven’t already!

I love reading her emails each week where she shares tips on how to strengthen your marriage and improve your sex life. I also appreciate Shelia speaking out on hard topics like abuse and pornography.

She also has a few courses you might enjoy:

3. Ann Voskamp: I’ve been a reader of Ann’s for many years. Her blog is not necessarily a homemaking blog, but it is a Christian blog. And I think every homemaker can be blessed by her writings. 

Her words not only inspire and encourage – they make me think. I ponder more when I read her works. 

She’s a powerful writer, able to express faith and trust in God in such profound way. If you want to ponder the deep things of God and the hidden places of your heart, read Ann Voskamp.

4. The Inspired Room: I’ve read a few of Melissa Michael’s books and her blog is truly beautiful! I love her tips on making a home you love and if you’ve never seen her homemaking blog, you really need to check it out.

Homemaking is such a sweet gift you can give your family – yourself. There’s so much more to homemaking than simply cleaning a house. The word homemaking literally means:
