Welcome to A Virtuous Woman
where you will find freedom from perfection and the confidence to live your life with purpose.
I longed to have what I considered to be the perfect life.
But shame and guilt colored every aspect of my life and no matter how hard I tried, no matter how hard I planned or worked – all I could see was my failure. I knew that God loved me. I knew that He could forgive all sin. I believed. I prayed. I read my Bible. But deep down, I didn’t think He could do that for me. I didn’t believe I was worthy of love and forgiveness.
The problem wasn’t that God couldn’t forgive me, but that I couldn’t forgive myself. Jesus said, “you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” I accepted His gift of unconditional grace and that’s when I was set free from the bondage of shame, guilt, and perfectionism.
Creating structure and order in our day helps me balance my time and live with purpose, but I also know that things don’t always go as planned. And that’s okay. I am not a failure when my plan fails. I am still worthy of love and I can give myself grace for the moment.
My name is Melissa Ringstaff and I’m here to help.

I don’t know how you could possibly have time to read all the responses people send you, but I just wanted to tell you how much I love your emails. I am subscribed to sooo many emails but yours is the only one I read.
I have gotten so much encouragement from you. You challenge me, make me think and lift me up, all through the words I read on my phone. What Readers are Saying
I definitely do not believe in coincidence. Finding you tonight was Holy Spirit inspired. I’m so grateful that God crossed our paths. I look forward to becoming completely free of my two “job” experiences. I am a lover of stories. Especially the ones where God was there in the midst. I loved reading your testimony. It was difficult, but it was so refreshing to see regardless of our circumstances, His word is truth. He will never leave us… Your blog has become my very favorite. I truly could read all night. I must be at work by 7:30 am tomorrow, but as soon as I have a break, I will be back. Thanking Jesus for this most wonderful evening spending time with you. God Bless you. — Cheryl
I LOVE LOVE LOVE your Purpose 31 Planner! I use it everyday. My husband calls it “The Mommy Manual” and when in doubt he pulls it out knowing I put EVERYTHING in it. LOL. But, what I Love even more is the little extras you put up randomly to fit the theme of the Purpose 31 Planner. So I know that I can grab the free printable and they match the theme of the planner. Thank you. It really has made being organized a lot easier! — Christina
